While studying at Manchester School of Art I experimented with body painting and the idea of the disappearance of the human body when manipulated by colour. I was quite fascinated with how people respond to colour and the masking of the self that people often conduct daily. I chose red because of how alarming and overpowering the colour can be and I wanted to explore how it might alter the human shape and its surroundings.
